All Japan Kendo Federation (AJKF) has been donating used kendo-gu to foreign countries as part of its efforts to promote kendo overseas since FY1990.

In FY2019, the donation of kendo-gu to five countries was conducted with the help of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Japanese embassies overseas. We also had the cooperation of the All Japan Budogu Cooperative, Omiya Transportation Co., Ltd. and Shibusawa Warehouse Co., Ltd.

The AJKF was preparing to send kendo-gu this year, in the same way as the previous year. However, due to difficulties in international logistics caused by the spread of COVID-19, together with getting a large number of people to work together to repair and pack the equipment, the All Japan Kendo Federation has decided not to conduct the donation program in FY2020.
