The previously postponed Kendo 6-dan and 7-dan (Kyoto and Aichi), Kendo 8-dan (Kyoto), Iaido 8-dan (Kyoto), and Jodo 8-dan (Kyoto) examinations will be held as detailed below. However, please note that due to the circumstances regarding COVID-19 infections, these may be subject to change again.

• Kendo 6th Dan Examination (Kyoto)
• Kendo 7th Dan Examination (Kyoto)
• Kendo 8th Dan Examination (Kyoto) 1st Day
• Kendo 8th Dan Examination (Kyoto) 2nd Day
• Kendo 7th Dan Examination (Aichi)
• Kendo 6th Dan Examination (Aichi)

Iaido

• Iaido 8th Dan Examination (Kyoto)

Jodo

• Jodo 8th Dan Examination (Kyoto)

Kendo 6th Dan, 7th Dan, and 8th Dan Emaninations

• These examinations will be held in September 2020.
• Once the dates, venues, and other details have been confirmed, they will be announced through the AJKF homepage and the prefectural kendo federations.
• These examinations are substitutes for the April and May examinations held in Kyoto and Aichi. Therefore, these examinations are limited only to people who had applied for the April and May examinations in Kyoto and Aichi. For people who pass the examination, the date used will be that of the originally scheduled examination in April or May, before the postponement.
• Fees paid for the April and May examinations in Kyoto and Aichi will be used for the rescheduled examination.
• If you are unable to take the examination on the rescheduled date, the examination fee will be refunded if you request it by the determined date. This date and other information about the examination will be made public at the same time.
• For overseas examinees who applied through their country’s national federation, please follow the guidance from the All Japan Kendo Federation that will be sent to the president of each national federation.

Iaido 8th Dan and Jodo 8th Dan Examinations

• The Iaido 8-dan (Kyoto) and Jodo 8-dan (Kyoto) examinations will be held in August 2020.
• Once the dates, venues, and other details have been confirmed, they will be announced through the AJKF homepage and the prefectural kendo federations.
• The examination requirements and fees will be treated as the same as kendo. For overseas examinees who applied through their country’s national federation, in the same manner as kendo, please follow the guidance that will be sent to the president of each national federation.

Regarding Kendo 6-dan, 7-dan, 8-dan / Iaido 8-dan / Jodo 8-dan Examinations
